# Duplicate Highlighter for Google Sheets > Duplicate Highlighter for Google Sheets is a Codeprint Google Workspace add-on that highlights duplicate values or duplicate rows using native Google Sheets conditional formatting. Last reviewed: 2026-08-03 ## Product purpose Users select one continuous range in the currently open Google Sheet, choose duplicate matching rules, preview matches when practical, and apply a native conditional-formatting rule. The rule remains in the spreadsheet and continues updating after the sidebar closes. Version 1 supports duplicate values per selected column, duplicate values across a whole range, and duplicate rows based on chosen key columns. Options include ignoring blanks, trimming surrounding whitespace, case-sensitive or case-insensitive matching, and highlighting all occurrences or only occurrences after the first. Available colors are yellow, red, green, blue, and purple. Actions include Preview, Apply, Quick Apply, Clear, and conservative Undo. The Extensions menu contains Highlight Selected Range, Open Duplicate Highlighter, Clear all highlights on active sheet, and Help. Clear has two scopes: the menu action clears every owned rule on the active sheet, while the sidebar's Clear this selection is limited to the selected range. Undo last highlight reverses the most recent apply, removes only that verified rule group, remains available after the sidebar is reopened while the group is intact, and is not available for Clear. Duplicate Highlighter does not delete, merge, reorder, or rewrite duplicate data. It does not provide fuzzy or AI matching. It does not reconcile across sheets. ## Pricing and usage Each Google user receives three lifetime successful applies for this product, shared across spreadsheets and installations. A successful sidebar Apply or Quick Apply counts. Preview, settings, selection refresh, Clear, Undo, checkout, failures, canceled actions, and idempotent retries do not count. Undo does not refund a completed use. Duplicate Highlighter Pro costs $29.99 USD per year and provides unlimited successful applies for the subscribed Google user, subject to Google Sheets and Apps Script platform limits. Billing uses Stripe-hosted Checkout and the Stripe Customer Portal. Refund requests are evaluated case by case. ## Data and privacy Duplicate analysis, preview, formula generation, and conditional-formatting changes occur inside Google Apps Script for the current spreadsheet. Codeprint does not receive cell values, formulas, sheet names, A1 ranges, spreadsheet IDs, sheet IDs, duplicate groups, or derived duplicate keys. Codeprint and Supabase process the Google user identifier and email, Codeprint account and installation records, successful-apply usage, entitlement state, subscription state, audit records, and safe diagnostics. Stripe processes billing and payment data. Vercel hosts the public website. Google processes identity, Apps Script, and the open spreadsheet. Google OAuth scopes: openid; userinfo.email; spreadsheets.currentonly; script.container.ui; script.external_request. The app does not request Google Drive scope or broad access to every spreadsheet. The product does not transfer Google Workspace user data to AI or machine-learning services and does not use that data to train generalized models.
